Technique, choreography, and a place to perform — for beginners at 14 and for dancers aiming at a team.
Teenagers come to us from two directions: dancers who have trained for years and want a studio that takes them seriously, and teens who have never danced and are worried it is too late. Both are welcome, and they do not end up in the same room. We place by age and experience together, so a beginning 14-year-old trains with beginners her own age — never with seven-year-olds, never thrown into a room of seasoned competitors.
For teens, The Facility offers leveled ballet, hip hop, lyrical and contemporary, and a musical theatre class for ages 13 and up, taught by a faculty that includes a Hip Hop Director with NBA-team and convention credits and a Company Director who holds high standards without ever raising her voice. The rooms are black boxes: black walls, sprung floors, one line of teal light. Teens tell us it feels like dancing inside a stage, because it is one.
First class free in any style, no card. Enroll within 24 hours and the $35 registration fee is waived. Tuition is public to the dollar: $69 a month for one 45-minute class, $80 for one hour, $129 for two — and it keeps dropping per hour for teens who train several nights a week.
For the teen who is starting late
You are not late. Hip hop, musical theatre, and lyrical are all styles a motivated teen beginner can get genuinely good at within a season, and our recreational classes are built for exactly that. Class is a real warm-up, technique across the floor, and choreography that builds over weeks. Nobody is put on the spot, corrections are coaching, and the Winter Showcase gives every dancer — including first-year teens — a real stage with professional production.

For the teen who wants more
Dancers with training get placed into intermediate work — Recreational Ballet II for pre-teens and early teens, and the upper age bands in hip hop and contemporary — and can add privates with faculty for solo work, audition prep, or a skill that will not click. Our invite-only competition company draws from these classes as teachers see readiness. It is optional, always, and it is a real commitment; the competition team page explains what it asks of a family before anyone is invited.
Teens who stay recreational are not a lesser track. Same teachers, same rooms, same stage, and — because tuition is based on weekly hours — the cost of training three or four hours a week is published on the pricing page before you ever ask.
Schedule, dress, and the drive
Teen classes run in the evening blocks, late enough to follow homework instead of replacing it, and the studio is open until 9:30 pm on weeknights. Dress is style-specific (leotard and tights for ballet, fitted clothes and clean sneakers for hip hop — each style page has the details); phones stay in dance bags during class.
We are at 21461 N 78th Ave, Suite 185 in north Peoria, off the Loop 101 at Deer Valley — a short drive from Arrowhead, Glendale, Sun City, Surprise, and north Phoenix, with free parking at the door. Hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; we are closed Sundays.
Questions teens and their parents ask
Is 14 too old to start dancing?
No. We place by age and experience, so a beginning teen trains with beginners her own age. Hip hop, musical theatre, and lyrical are all styles a motivated teen can get genuinely good at in a season.
Do you have advanced classes for experienced teens?
Yes — leveled ballet, upper age bands in hip hop and contemporary, private lessons with faculty, and an invite-only competition company for dancers who want to train and compete seriously.
How do teens join the competition team?
By invitation from a teacher who sees readiness in class. If your teen is new to the studio with competitive experience, ask about placement at the free trial or call us — we will tell you honestly where they stand.
Can my teen take private lessons?
Yes. Every faculty bio page has a private lesson request button; privates are booked one dancer, one instructor, one black-box studio at a time.
What does a teen who dances several hours a week pay?
Tuition is based on total weekly hours and published on the pricing page — $129 a month for two hours, and the per-hour rate keeps dropping from there. Registration is $35 and waived within 24 hours of the free trial.
Will my teen have to perform?
Every class performs at the Winter Showcase, and we strongly encourage it — but it is not mandatory. Tell us early if your dancer will sit it out.
