Musical theatre at The Facility is dance first — jazz technique, Broadway-style choreography, and the storytelling that turns steps into a scene — with acting and character work woven through every combination. We run it for two very different groups: a preschool class for ages 4 and 5, where every number is a story, and a teen class for ages 13 and up that works on real show repertoire and audition-ready performance.
It lives in Studio 4, the newest room in the building — musical theatre evenings, Mommy & Me mornings, and Friday line dancing all share it — and, like every studio here, it is a black box with a teal LED perimeter. A black room is the closest thing to a stage a kid can rehearse in, and musical theatre dancers notice.
First class free in any style. Enroll within 24 hours and the $35 registration fee is waived. Tuition is on the pricing page: $69 a month for one 45-minute class, $80 for one hour.
What happens in a musical theatre class
For the little ones, class is built around a song from a show or film they love: a warm-up with character (stomp like the giant, tiptoe like the mouse), a simple combination that tells the song's story, and a lot of face — eyes up, mouths open, big finish. It is the class where shy kids find out they are not shy.
For teens, class runs like a rehearsal: a jazz-based technique warm-up, then repertoire — a combination in the style of a specific show, taught with the lyrics so dancers learn to act the words while they dance. Teachers coach stage presence, spacing, and the sort of audition etiquette that matters when a school production or community theatre calls. Dancers who sing are encouraged to; dancers who do not are never made to.

What to wear
Comfortable dance clothes and jazz shoes or clean indoor sneakers, hair pulled back so we can see that face. For the free trial, anything your dancer can move in is perfect.
Musical theatre and everything else
Musical theatre pairs naturally with tap and jazz — the three make up most of what a Broadway ensemble does — and monthly tuition drops per hour as weekly hours stack, so adding a second class is the cheap part. Musical theatre dancers perform at the Winter Showcase alongside every other class, and the invite-only competition company includes musical theatre as a discipline.
We are at 21461 N 78th Ave, Suite 185 in north Peoria, off the Loop 101 at Deer Valley — minutes from Arrowhead, close to Glendale, Sun City, and Surprise. Hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; we are closed Sundays.
Questions parents ask
Does my child need to sing?
No. This is a dance class with acting woven in. Dancers who love to sing are encouraged; nobody is made to sing solo.
What ages do you teach musical theatre?
A preschool class for ages 4 and 5 and a teen class for ages 13 and up. School-age dancers between those ages build the same skills in jazz and tap, and we add musical theatre sections as demand grows — ask us.
Is this good preparation for school plays and community theatre?
Very. Teen class works on show-style repertoire, audition etiquette, and stage presence — exactly what a director is looking for at a callback.
What does my dancer wear?
