Dance Classes

Preschool dance classes in Peoria, AZ.

Tiny Movers: first steps with gentle structure, for ages 3 to 5. Ballet, jazz, lyrical, princess, tumble, and musical theatre.

Ages 3 to 5 are the sweet spot for a first dance class: old enough to follow a teacher and wait a turn, young enough that everything is still play. Our Tiny Movers program covers the widest range of styles we offer any age group — Pre-Primary and Primary Ballet, preschool jazz and lyrical, Disney Princess ballet, Hip Hop Tumble, and a preschool musical theatre class — so a three-year-old who wants to twirl and a five-year-old who wants to cartwheel both have a room.

Preschool classes are 45 minutes, capped in size, and taught by instructors chosen specifically for how they work with very young dancers. Keira Glass, whose specialty is early childhood, teaches most of them. The rooms are black boxes with teal LED light and sprung floors — kids focus differently in them, and parents notice through the glass.

First class free, no card required. Enroll within 24 hours and the $35 registration fee is waived. Tuition is public on our pricing page: $69 a month for one weekly 45-minute class.

Which preschool class to start with

If your child loves to twirl: Disney Princess ballet (ages 2 to 5) or Pre-Primary Ballet (4 to 6). Both teach posture, pointed feet, and the first ballet vocabulary through story and imagery. If your child loves loud music and big movement: preschool jazz or Hip Hop Tumble, which adds rolls, cartwheels, and bridges. If your child sings everything: preschool musical theatre. If you are not sure, the first class in any style is free — try two and let them pick.

Every preschool class follows the same shape: a warm-up game, a skill taught through play (a tendu is a paintbrush, a passé is a flamingo), traveling across the floor, and a short routine that grows every week toward the Winter Showcase, where every class — including the three-year-olds — performs on a real stage.

What to wear and bring

Ballet and princess classes: leotard and tights or a dress-up outfit, with ballet shoes. Jazz, tumble, and musical theatre: comfortable fitted clothes with bare feet or clean indoor sneakers. Hair pulled back, no jewelry, water bottle in a labeled bag. Do not buy shoes before the free trial — leggings and a tee with bare feet are perfect for it, and the teacher will tell you exactly what the class needs.

Scheduling around a preschooler

Preschool classes run on weekday mornings, on weekday afternoons starting at 4:30 pm, and on Saturday mornings, so a family with a morning-preschool kid and a family with a full-day kid both have options. Parents of young dancers are welcome to stay in the lobby, and dancers are released to a parent inside the building, never to the lot.

Two classes a week is common at this age — ballet plus one fun class — and because tuition is based on total weekly hours, the second class is much cheaper than the first. We are at 21461 N 78th Ave, Suite 185 in north Peoria, off the Loop 101 at Deer Valley with free parking at the door, minutes from Arrowhead, Glendale, and Sun City. Hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; we are closed Sundays.

Questions preschool parents ask

Is 3 too young for a real dance class?

No — 3 is when independent classes begin here. They are short, playful, and capped in size, and teachers are chosen for how they work with preschoolers. If your child is not ready to be in the room without you, Mommy & Me is the step before.

Will my child be the only beginner?

No. New preschoolers join every season, and every new student gets a buddy in their first class so nobody walks in alone.

Ballet or something else first?

Ballet builds the strongest foundation, but at 3 to 5 the best first class is the one your child is excited about. The trial is free in any style, so many families try two.

Can I watch?

Parents of our youngest dancers are welcome in the lobby, and we hold designated observation weeks so you can see progress up close. Day to day, preschoolers focus best without an audience.

Do preschoolers perform in the Winter Showcase?

Yes — every class performs at the Winter Showcase on a real stage with professional production. It is optional, and it is the moment the whole year clicks for a young dancer.

How much do preschool classes cost?

$69 a month for one weekly 45-minute class; two weekly classes in any styles cost less per class. Registration is $35 and waived within 24 hours of the free trial.
