Yes, a one-year-old can take a dance class — with you. Our Mommy & Me class welcomes ages 1 and 2 with a parent or grown-up dancing alongside: music, movement games, scarves, bubbles, and a lot of giggling, in a black-box studio lit with teal light that toddlers find fascinating. From age 2, dancers step into their own class: Disney Princess ballet for ages 2 to 5 (tiaras welcome) and the Tiny Movers classes that begin at 3.
Our early childhood specialist is Keira Glass, who teaches most of these classes and whose classroom is warm from the first minute. Parents watch it happen through the glass every week: the toddler who would not let go of a hand at the door is giggling mid-combination twenty minutes later. No dancer leaves her room without feeling completely valued.
The first class is free — bring your toddler, see how they respond, and decide afterward. Enroll within 24 hours and the $35 registration fee is waived. Tuition is published on our pricing page: $69 a month for a weekly 45-minute class.
What toddler dance actually is
It is not ballet technique and it is not supposed to be. At 1 and 2, class is about rhythm, direction, and the joy of moving to music with someone they love: bouncing to the beat, freeze dances, marching in a circle, stretching like a cat. Grown-ups participate the whole time — the class is as much for you as for them, and it is the best half hour of a lot of parents' weeks.
At 2, 3, and 4, dancers work without a grown-up in the room and learn the beginnings of a class: following a teacher, waiting a turn, walking on tiptoe across the floor, and a tiny routine that grows week to week. Disney Princess ballet dresses it up in a story; Tiny Movers jazz and lyrical make it musical. Skills are secondary to the real goal, which is a child who walks in confident and leaves proud.

What to wear and bring
For Mommy & Me: comfy clothes for both of you, bare feet or grippy socks for little ones, socks or bare feet for grown-ups. For Disney Princess: a leotard and tights or a favorite dress-up outfit with ballet shoes, or bare feet to start. Bring a water bottle and a labeled bag; leave the snacks in the car. For the free trial, whatever they are already wearing is fine.
Practical stuff for parents of very small dancers
Toddler classes are short, and most of them are scheduled on weekday mornings and Saturday mornings, because nobody's two-year-old is at their best at 6 pm. Parents of the youngest dancers are welcome to stay in the lobby; most do. Dancers are always released to a parent or guardian inside the building, never to the parking lot.
Some toddlers cling for the first class or two. That is normal, and Miss Keira has seen it a hundred times — the trial is free precisely so you can find out how yours responds before you spend a dollar. We are in north Peoria at 78th Ave and Deer Valley, just off the Loop 101 with a free lot outside the door, minutes from Arrowhead, Glendale, and Sun City. Hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; we are closed Sundays.
Questions toddler parents ask
How young can a child really start?
Age 1, in Mommy & Me, with a parent or grown-up dancing alongside. Independent classes — Disney Princess ballet and Tiny Movers — start at age 2 or 3 depending on the class.
Do I stay in the room?
For Mommy & Me, you are in the class the whole time — it is built for the two of you. For ages 2 and up, dancers work with the teacher on their own, and you are welcome to stay in the lobby.
What if my toddler cries or will not join in?
It happens, and it is fine. Our early childhood teacher works with clingy first-timers every season. Try a free class, give it two or three weeks if the first one is rough, and talk to us if it is not clicking.
Does my toddler need ballet shoes?
Not for the trial — bare feet or grippy socks are perfect. Ballet shoes for Disney Princess can come after you enroll; ask the teacher which kind.
How long is a toddler class?
Short on purpose — a 45-minute class is the most a two- or three-year-old can enjoy, and our youngest classes are scheduled on weekday and Saturday mornings.
How much do toddler classes cost?
$69 a month for one weekly 45-minute class, published on our pricing page. Registration is $35 and waived if you enroll within 24 hours of the free trial.
