Dance Classes

Hip hop dance classes in Peoria, AZ.

Real technique, real musicality, and a room built for bass. Hip hop at The Facility is where first-timers and future team dancers train side by side.

If you are looking for hip hop dance classes in Peoria, here is what you get at The Facility: a program run by a director with two decades of Arizona dance education behind her, classes split by age so a seven-year-old is never dropped into a room of twelve-year-olds, and a black-box studio with a sound system tuned for bass. Hip hop lives in Studio 2 — 1,100 square feet of sprung hardwood, concert-grade sound, and LED scenes that move with the music.

Our Hip Hop Director, Denise Aranda, has coached NBA and college dance teams and taught at national conventions like KAOS, RADIX, and Ovation. Her rule for every room: every dancer deserves to feel confident, valued, seen, and heard. That is the culture of the whole program, from the youngest tumble class to the oldest teen group.

The first class in any style is free, no card required. Enroll within 24 hours of that trial and we waive the $35 registration fee. Tuition is published to the dollar on our pricing page — a single 45-minute weekly class is $69 a month, a one-hour class is $80.

What a hip hop class actually looks like here

Class opens with a warm-up that doubles as conditioning — isolations, grooves, and the foundations (bounce, rock, and the basic steps every hip hop style is built on). The middle of class is technique: footwork drills, musicality games, and short combinations that teach dancers to hear the beat and hit it clean. Class closes with choreography, usually a longer combination that builds over a few weeks so dancers feel the progress instead of just being told about it.

For our youngest hip hop dancers, the Hip Hop Tumble classes blend beginner hip hop with floor tumbling — rolls, cartwheels, and bridges — because at four, five, and six, the best way to build coordination is to keep the body moving in every direction. From age seven, classes split into tighter age bands and the choreography gets more demanding.

What to wear to hip hop

Comfortable clothes you can move in — joggers, leggings, a tee — and a pair of clean sneakers reserved for the studio floor only. Street shoes track grit onto a sprung floor, and grit is what wears a floor out, so the indoor-only rule is firm. Hair pulled back, no dangling jewelry, water bottle in the bag. For your free trial, whatever your dancer already owns is perfect; do not buy anything until a teacher tells you what the class needs.

Recreational or team, the teachers are the same

Everything on the public schedule is recreational. Our competition company is invite-only and always optional, and hip hop dancers who stay recreational forever train with the same director, in the same room, and perform on the same Winter Showcase stage. Teachers invite dancers to the company when they see readiness — nobody is pressured, and nobody is overlooked.

We are at 21461 N 78th Ave, Suite 185 in north Peoria, just off the Loop 101 at Deer Valley, minutes from Arrowhead and an easy drive from Glendale, Sun City, and Surprise. Studio hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 9:30 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; we are closed Sundays.

Questions parents ask

What age can my child start hip hop?

Hip Hop Tumble classes start at age 4, and dedicated hip hop classes run in tight age bands from age 7 up through the teens. If your dancer is younger than 4, our Disney Princess and Mommy & Me classes build the same coordination in a gentler format.

Does my child need experience to join a hip hop class?

No. Every recreational hip hop class welcomes true beginners, and the first class is free so you can see the fit before committing. If a dancer has prior training, teachers may suggest an older or more advanced group after the trial.

Is the music appropriate for kids?

Yes. Every track used in a youth class is clean-edit or instrumental, and choreography is age-appropriate. If you ever have a concern about a song or a move, tell the teacher directly — that is how we would want to hear it.

What shoes are required for hip hop?

Clean sneakers that never touch the parking lot. Any supportive athletic shoe works; no need for a specific brand. Keep a pair in the dance bag so they stay studio-only.

How much do hip hop classes cost?

Tuition is monthly and based on your dancer's total weekly class hours: $69 for one 45-minute class, $80 for one hour, $129 for two hours. The full table is on our pricing page. Registration is $35, waived if you enroll within 24 hours of your free trial.

Can my dancer join a hip hop performance team?

Our competition company is invite-only and includes hip hop. Teachers invite dancers from recreational classes as they see readiness, so the path starts by taking class. Read more on our competition team page.
