Halloween in the West Valley is better when the whole neighborhood shows up. That's why we're turning our parking lot into a Trunk or Treat this year, and you're invited. On Saturday, October 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, The Facility Dance Studio is hosting a free Trunk or Treat for the whole Peoria community. You don't need to be a Facility family, you don't need to know a single dance step, and you don't need to pay a thing to get in. Just bring your little ghosts and superheroes and come hang out with us.
Here's everything you need to know before you go.
The basics: when, where and who
The Trunk or Treat runs Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the studio parking lot at 21461 N 78th Ave, Suite 185, in Peoria.
It's free and open to everyone, all ages. Toddlers in their first costume, big kids who think they're too old for trick-or-treating (they're not), parents, grandparents, neighbors. If you live in Peoria, Glendale, Surprise or anywhere in the West Valley, come on over.
We ask that you RSVP so we have a good idea of how much candy to plan for. RSVP is free and takes about a minute at https://www.facilitydancestudio.com/trunkortreat
Trunks full of candy
Trunk or Treat is trick-or-treating without the long walk between houses or the dark streets. Our dancers and their families are decorating their car trunks, each one with its own theme, and every trunk will be stocked with candy.
For parents of little ones, this is the easiest Halloween night there is. The whole thing happens in one well-lit parking lot, you can see your kids the entire time, and short legs don't get worn out after three blocks. Kids walk from trunk to trunk, fill their bags, and get to see some genuinely creative decorating along the way.
Food trucks on site
We'll have food trucks in the lot, so you can turn the evening into dinner and skip cooking on a Saturday. Food is pay-as-you-go directly with each truck, so bring a card or some cash if your crew gets hungry. Entry, candy and the dance lessons are all free.
Learn the Thriller dance (no experience needed)
This is the part we're most excited about. Throughout the evening, Facility instructors will teach the Thriller dance, step by step, right there in the parking lot. It's free, it's for every age, and you absolutely do not need any dance experience.
Our instructors teach beginners every single week, so they know how to break a dance into small, doable pieces. We'll start slow, count it out, and build it up one section at a time until the whole group is moving together. Kids usually pick it up fast, and the parents who jump in tend to have the most fun of anyone. You can join one round or stay for several. Nobody is grading anybody.
If your child has been curious about dance but a little nervous to try a class, this is a low-pressure way to see what learning a dance with our teachers actually feels like.
Costumes encouraged
Costumes aren't required, but they're very much encouraged, for kids and grown-ups. Wear something you can move in if you plan to try the Thriller dance. Comfortable shoes help too. A few practical tips: bring a bag or bucket for candy, a small flashlight or glow stick for the walk back to your car, and a light layer since Arizona evenings start cooling down in late October.
Come for the candy, stay for a class
We love hosting events like this because the studio is more than a building where classes happen. It's a place for families in Peoria to connect, and a night like this is the best way for new faces to meet our teachers and dancers.
If your family has fun learning Thriller and wants more, your first dance class at The Facility is always free. We teach ages 3 through adult in ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre. You can book a free trial class anytime at https://www.facilitydancestudio.com/trial
We hope to see you on October 24. Happy Halloween from all of us at The Facility Dance Studio in Peoria.
